Jamie Oliver Finally Has a Son

Jamie Oliver has not made it secret that he wanted a boy, despite being happy with every daughter they have produced. He's even said he once wore a frozen diaper just to conceive a boy. Well anyway, he's been fianlly blessed with one. And their fourth child's name is Buddy Bear Maurice. Kinda funny, quirky name right?

John Travolta and Kelly Preston Expecting!!!

I was super thrilled to find out only now that Kelly Preston is expecting. And at age 47 too!!!

I know that a new baby will not diminish their departed son's memory, but I think it will really help them heal some more. Plus, Scientology aside, I love that they truly love each other and that they have a thriving, stable marriage. I'd rather couples like them have more kids than those celebs who just end up pregnant, hook up for a time and then move on.

I wish them well!!

Behind with my Gossip

I have been real busy that I have been remiss about posting, and reacting, to celebrity baby arrivals and celebrity parents, in general.

I didn't even know that Matthew McConaughey, Padma Lakshmi and Rebecca Gayheart had girls!

Giselle Bundchen and Jenna Elfman, on the other hand, recently had sons.

Jamie Oliver and wife are also expecting again. I sure hope he didn't try the frozen diapers trick again, because it didn't work with their third child. But I sure wish for them to have a boy finally, just because they seem to be groovy and cool parents who are really in love with each other.

And Jim Carrey is already a grandfather!!!

*~*

Shiloh looks more like a boy now. And is being dressed like Brad Pitt (and I don't mean in a cute way).

All these news I got from Babyrazzi, of course!

Frozen Diapers Don't Cut It

I blogged before about chef Jamie Oliver freezing an adult diaper because it supposedly increases the chances of making a boy.

Well, it seems it didin't work for him for the latest addition to his family, Petal Blossom Rainbow, is another girl. Born last April 3, she joins sisters Poppy Honey (6) and Daisy Boo (5).

Twin Sons Times Two

Both Jenna Jameson and Charlie Sheen welcomed twin sons. Jenna gave birth last March 16 while Charlie Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller gave birth Saturday night (March 14).

The names haven't been released yet though.

Hollywood is sure multiplying. Does this mean that around twenty-thirty years from now, their kids will be giving birth to triplets? :)

Just a Little "Ewww"

Just for the record, I don't really believe they have an incestuous sort of relationship.

But a dad and daughter posing like this is also just plain wrong to me. And I don't care if people say am a little limited on how dads and daughters should be like... so I really wish the Mom in this family would get some backbone and put a stop to all this fame-whoring gimmicks her husband (am assumming they're still together) and daughter do, if not come up with.

Yuck!

Sex Selection Procedure: Yay or Nay?

Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller are expecting twin boys, thanks in part to a fertility procedure called "sperm spinning". It's basically a sex selection procedure wherein X spermies are separated from the Y spermies and only the preferred sex-carrying spermies are inseminated in the mother to boost the chances of conceiving the preferred sex.

Not really sure i'm excited ove this procedure. I understand medical interventions that hope to ensure only the healthiest babies survive, but preferring a gender over another seems superficial for me. Aside from the fact that we're supposedly living in a time where men and women are equal, having a boy doesn't exactly ensure he will want to grow up a man. He could choose to be bi, gay or transsexual in time, so why focus energies on something like this?

And it's not that I don't understand the longing for a specific sex. I've always known i'd be okay without having a son, but I know i'll pine for a daughter. Mainly because i'm a woman. And well, maybe because I want to forge a better mother-daughter relationship with a child of mine than the one I had with my own mother. And come on, girls are a lot more fun to dress up and accessorize!

But I was blessed with a son for a firstborn. And even if all three kids I want will be sons, I don't think i'd ever really want to tamper with perfection, which is what nature thought to bless me with.

TMI but Funny

Chef Jamie Oliver confessed that he wet an adult diaper and froze it, and then wore it (but cut a hole for his peen) while making love to increase the chances of having a boy after hearing that it's all about temperature.

This is the first time I heard of it and I find it really funny... but I guess it couldn't hurt to try it, if you really want a boy. Buy maybe somebody should have told him first about him and the wifey adding more salt to their diet first (or maybe he's already heard that!). And yes, I believe that one is an old wives' tale while the frozen diaper thingie isn't.

Now, I guess I should check if over there in Alaska, there are indeed more boys born than girls. Hehe.
